Herdade dos Grous is an idyllic country estate with a restaurant, 24 rooms and 730 acres of land mostly for wine growing. It belongs to Vila Vita Parc and gives a holiday an extra twist with horses and even balloon riding.
Vila Vita Parc, opened in 1992, is a huge resort with 170 rooms and suites scattered over an area of 22 hectars and some apartments outside the resort. Located right in the middle of the beautiful Algarve coast it soon became a benchmark for luxury in this region. We like it because it never feels crowded and when it comes to food and drink it is just a great place for all tastes and wallets. There are 11 restaurants starting with Hans Neuner`s two Michelin-starred OCEAN restaurant. Guests also find a great Japanese restaurant, a traditional Portuguese and a fish restaurant, six bars and a great wine cellar: Cave de vinhos, 8 meters below the surface, surprises with 11.000 bottles and 1.200 references. Chef Hans Neuner is like the general manager Austrian and comitted to high standards in food and service. Vila Vita parc boasts the only Sisley spa in Portugal, a well equipped gym, and several pools. Vila Vita Parc guests also have direct access to a secluded sandy white beach, “Tremoços Beach”, bordered by the dramatic rocky cliffs of the Atlantic Ocea. The hotel is also a good spot for golfers, tennis players and waterskiing. The resort has it’s own yacht that can be rented. Rooms are elegant with a Portuguese touch in a more conservative style. What we like is that rooms and suites are scattered and there is enough privacy despite 170 rooms.
